The Ranch

Aerial photography has a special place in my heart. Honing my skills from the sky has given me opportunities to travel all over the world. You can say farm and ranch properties are my “bread and butter” when it comes to shooting from above, and this particular shoot took me to south Texas. This part of the state has a bit of a romantic way about it and is home to the country’s most historic and influential ranches. They have sewn their seeds in the long, gentle, rolling terrain of this area.

The Ranch is not unlike many of its kind. A few proud and sturdy buildings gather in a rare clearing of the property. The driveway is long and winding, but the view from above begs the question, “Where does this come from?” It’s the only establishment as far as the eye can see – hence the appealing draw. The surrounding area is peppered with mesquite trees and not much else.

Golden hour is a familiar term to any photographer – when the sun begins to rise or set, and it’s rays melt like honey over the sky. However, clouds are not always a friend to the camera. In this case, we rolled with what the weather handed us, and the results were spectacular.

If you’re interested in aerial photography of your own property, drop me a line! Let’s help your property find it’s good side – from every angle.
